Selection in Poland - 60 million euro to 90 projects on green innovation and blue growth
The Business Development, Innovation and SME Programme in Poland is the largest among the business programmes supported by Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021. The programme has now selected 90 projects that will contribute to value creation and sustainable growth in the coming years.
The green industry innovation projects will develop and implement new, innovative technologies, solutions, processes, products or services in the entrepreneurial activity of companies or in the market.
The blue growth projects will mainly focus on improving infrastructure in small ports or marinas, low emission means of transport for tourist activities around lakes or the production of ecological vessels.
High interest in the open call
The projects were selected through an open call launched in 2020. The call received high interest, with 219 applications for green industry innovation and 28 for blue growth. The programme could support the top 78 projects on green industry innovation and 12 projects on blue growth. The grant rate will up to a maximum of 70% of the project.
The projects will also strengthen the already close relations between Poland and Norway. The Norwegian Ambassador to Poland, Mr Anders Eide, commented on the selection:
- This programme aims to stimulate green innovation and business development, and to strengthen the competitiveness of Polish companies in an environmentally sustainable economy. Among the projects are also a number of initiatives that will be implemented in partnership between Polish and Norwegian companies and research institutions. I hope it will be the beginning of a long-term and fruitful cooperation.
