The event gathered more than 100 participants, including project promoters, Norwegian partners, and key stakeholders from the EEA and Norway Grants, the National Focal Point in Romania, the Norwegian Embassy in Bucharet, the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), the Icelandic Environment and Energy Agency and Innovation Norway at the Museum of Immersive New Art – MINA.

Key results from the programmes
Innovation Norway has been the Fund Operator of the Energy and Business Innovation programmes under the EEA and Norway Grants in Romania, with the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), the Icelandic Environment and Energy Agency and Innovation Norway as Donor Programme Partners.
The Energy Programme:
- 144 projects funded, 92% of allocated funds absorbed
- Investments in hydropower, geothermal energy, and household electrification are reshaping Romania’s energy landscape
- Great Romanian-Norwegian-Icelandic partnerships in the projects
The Innovation Programme:
- 90 projects supported
- 92% fund absorption rate, proving strong commitment and execution
- Companies like Sortilemn, Promateris, and Chimcomplex are paving the way for sustainable business models
The Open Call for Cooperation on the Green Transition:
- 30 projects, all with international partners
- Cross-border cooperation is accelerating progress toward a greener future
